✨ Puente Genil Opens the Doors to its Mananta ✨

Under the motto “Mananta: Tradition and Splendor,” the Association of Brotherhoods, Fraternities, and Biblical Corporations of Puente Genil has presented the program for its Open house meeting, which will be held from September 27th to October 3rd, 2026. This biennial event, returning this year after its first edition in 2024, aims to showcase the essence, uniqueness, and distinctive character of our Holy Week to visitors.

The Open House Days begin on September 27th with the inauguration of the exhibition “Art and Devotion” by the Brotherhood of Calvary and Our Lady of Consolation, in the cultural hall of the Mercado de Abastos (Central Market). As well as the exhibition by the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Resurrected, commemorating the 75th anniversary of its first procession. Besides, the opening ceremony will take place that evening with a concert by the Puente Genil Municipal Band at the Church of the Former Convent of San Francisco de la Asunción (Hospital).

On Monday, September 28th, there will be a masterclass by Jesús María Cosano, dedicated to the world of goldsmithing; and on Wednesday, 30th, another one by Cristian Redondo, dedicated to embroidery, both with limited spaces. Furthermore, on Tuesday, 29th, there will be a round table discussion with the dressers and attendants of Puente Genil entitled “The Art of Dressing Our Images.”

On Thursday, October 1st, Eduardo Moyano Estrada will give a lecture entitled Holy Week in Puente Genil: An Analysis from a Sociological Perspective.” The following day, Friday, October 2nd, will be the official opening day of the festival grounds. This year, the festivities will be centered in the upper part of Puente Genil, featuring a parade by the Los Ataos Music Band to showcase the town’s traditional music.

Saturday, October 3rd, will be the busiest day, with a parade through the Matallana neighborhood and a midday concert at the Hermanos Cuenca Municipal Auditorium by the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Coronada Band of Cornets and Drums from Cádiz.

In the afternoon, Antonio Santiago Muñoz, the foreman of the Esperanza Macarena brotherhood in Seville, will give a lecture. That evening, a concert by Nuestro Padre Jesús de los Afligidos Musical Group from Puente Genil will bring the Mananta, tradition and splendor meeting to a close with a high note.
